I don't know much but I do know some things. First and foremost the health care bill is a bad idea, and I will tell you why. Name one thing the government has done that has not cost more, taken longer and produced worse results than the private sector. You can't can you.
The government does pretty good at national defense. The last foreign soldier fighting against us was long ago. A lot of that does have to do with location. Thanks a lot to the Atlantic and the Pacific. We do pretty good against terrorism. A lot better after 9/11. Our education used to be great, not so much now. Crime is costing billions and they keep arresting the same people over and over. Something wrong with that huh? The war on drugs..failing, Foreign policy...they all hate Americans, Economy..they let the banking system ruin it. Bailouts..didn't do much for the average American. Trade..NAFTA backfired and was the begining of the end for U.S. manufacturing. I can go on and on.
Does not matter, republican, democrat, independent, peace party, could be the Nazi party in charge and health care will still cost more than expected, become corrupt, take to long, not work like expected and become a burden for future generations.
You don't have to do any more than look at the Governments track record to figure it out.
I set my expectations very low for politics. Sometimes I am still disappointed. I think this will be one of those times.
The problem with all of this is, unlike a business, the government at the state and federal level is either to big, to dumb or just to worried about the next election to just say "oh crap this aint working, lets change it"
The really sad part of it all is that the majority of Americans have no choice but to make the best of political failings.
